E-TEN and Quanta together to take on HTC? April 14, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. E-TEN has long-year experiences and big competences in making Pocket PC phones - we have seen them at CeBIT presenting Pocket PC phones already 3 years ago! Quanta on the other hand - one of the biggest manufacturers of computers in the world - is just producing their first Pocket PC phone - the Xda Atom. Their combined forces may at last create joint-venture capable of challenging the market leader - HTC! Quanta Computer is likely to form a strategic alliance with Taiwan-based smart handheld-device solutions provider E-Ten Information Systems, to jointly develop and manufacture smartphones and PDA phones, the Chinese-language Commercial Times reported today. The two companies are aiming to boost their presence in the global smart handheld-device market by optimizing E-Ten’s capability in the development of Windows Mobile-based solutions and Quanta’s own handset manufacturing capability, To learn more click here. Please note that in interviews that Microsoft employees gave us, they were denying that Microsoft gives HTC preferred treatment and that Microsoft treats all manufacturers equally.
