Moto Q Site with WRONG info May 19, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Let's face it: it is not the first time when ignorant marketing people put Pocket PC screen shots in photos of a Microsoft Smartphone and most marketing people think that there is only one Windows Mobile not realizing that MS Smartphone is a very much crippled (by Microsoft) version of Pocket PC: Verizon Wireless has launched a web page devoted to Motorola Q that will be available next week commercially: http://www.vzwshop.com/q/. The funny thing is: this Moto Q page shows (incorrectly) Pocket PC screens on the device (and also correct SmartPhone screens). In the interactive demo, the wheel is shown scrolling the Pocket PC Start Menu on the Q's screen... It referes to Office Mobile, too - for Smartphone? Something new or just another mistake? Looks like either Moto or (Verizon Wireless) VZW marketing folks are too incompetent to notice these errors... please note however that during unveiling ceremony of Motorola Q also Steve Ballmer praised Microsoft Office integration in Windows Mobile although there is no Microsoft Office for MS Smartphone (that is used in Motorola Q, because it lacks the touch screen), but only for Pocket PC. Microsoft however is working on Office Mobile (reader only) for MS Smartphone, so theoretically it could be that this Office Mobile for MS Smartphone will be revealed together with commercial release of Motorola Q next week, however it is very unlikely and probably just marketing folks from Verizon Wireless and/or Motorola are confused...
