Windows Mobile today : an interview with John Starkweather from Microsoft reflects the current state of affairs June 04, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. We have now rather quiet period, when it comes to Windows Mobile phones - apart from Q fascinations brought by Motorola, no new mobile phone releases will happen until in next 2-3 months, so it is good to read this extensive interview and reflect upon current state of affairs! This interview has been conducted with John Starkweather from Microsoft, whom also we were interviewing at 3GSM conferences in past 2 years, and who was also moderating Microsoft's main press conference at 3GSM. In this interview John Starkweather talks some interesting stuff also about, the future, like the fact that Motorola Q for GSM will be released in more colors and will offer faster processor (probably 416 MHz instead of 312 MHz in Motorola Q for CDMA): They’re going to sell a ton of Qs. They’re going to sell them. There are CDMA operators everywhere but Europe, and they’re going to sell millions of those things. It’s going to be a super successful product. However, the GSM version, it would be nice if it were sooner and I don’t think that’s going to change. I think that’s what Motorola would tell you as well. When the GSM version does come, you’re going to see, true to Motorola, you’re going to see some changes. You’re going to see different colours, better hardware, it’s definitely going to be faster, with more memory, all those things. To read this review click here: part 1 and part 2.
