Review of Eopstech SDIO Analogue TV Tuner for Pocket PC PDAs and phones July 04, 2006 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R. Analog TV in most countries has much smaller offering of channels than digital: for example in UK on freeview (digital TV in DVB-T standard) one can get BBC3 and BBC4 also, but on analog broadcasting only 5 channels are available and most are missing. Moreover analog TV will be switched off in many countries (in UK: in 2012). Anyway if these issues are not bothering you and you own a Pocket PC with (full size) SD card slot, then this SD card may be for you: This tuner does actually pick up TV on the move and although it can be a bit annoying having a huge external battery pack and external sound, I still like it. Although there are DVB-H tuners coming soon, the actual service is not widely available as yet and there would be no point in a DVB-T (freeview) tuner for mobile device as it requires “line-of-sight” to a transmitter. For countries where flat rate mobile Internet access is available we recommend SlingPlayer Mobile for mobile TV. Credit: Alex Abraham.
