A glance at the innards of HP iPAQ hw6915 Pocket PC phone July 13, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. While other manufacturers are busy with launching of 3G/UMTS versions of their Windows Mobile phones, HP corporation is still stuck in the past and has just launched belatedly the HP iPAQ hw6915 Pocket PC phone that is missing out on this crucial feature: 3G support... To see how little HP iPAQ hw6915 differs from HP iPAQ hw6515, now somebody dared to take a risk to open HP iPAQ hw6915 completely... ... and one can see that printed circuit boards and chip-sets used are almost identical! It took more than one year for HP to release a version of HP iPAQ hw6515 but with built-in Wi-Fi and powered by contemporary OS (Windows Mobile 5.0 instead of Windows Mobile 2003) but from the point of view of electronics, these are essentially 2 the same models! If you need built-in GPS and Wi-Fi but you can't wait 2-3 months for Fujitsu-Siemens and BenQ, that will be releasing such phones, then HP iPAQ hw6915 may be an interesting proposition for you.
