Vodafone UK launches home page for Windows Mobile Treo for GSM/UMTS July 19, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. After official announcement now comes second step from Vodafone UK: a web page (URL) has been created especially for (Windows Mobile powered) Palm Treo and people can sign up for notification about arrival of this phone! Interestingly Vodafone is interested also in customers of other wireless carriers, not just its own! Clearly this phone will have some Vodafone exclusivity period... Vodafone writes: Extend your office to your pocket with the next-generation Smartphone from Palm, Vodafone and Microsoft. Palm Treo smartphone will be an industry first using Vodafone’s high-speed network and delivering Palm’s ease of use on top of the Microsoft Window’s Mobile operating system – all backed up by Vodafone’s dedicated service for business. Shortly speaking: the Palm Treo for Vodafone will be a GSM/UMTS version of Treo 700w but it also means that it will have no built-in Wi-Fi what means, particularly because Vodafone is not (!) offering flat rate mobile Internet access - not so much fun!
