Another review of Samsung SGH-i320
July 26, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.
Samsung SGH-i320 smartphone is already on sale (and in stock!) in several online shops in Europe as this photo proves:
... so reading and viewing yet another review can only help in taking more informed buying decisions...
Since this review is in French here are some highlights in English:
- according to authors of the review, the phone is already on sale since the 15th of July (in France, but by now we know that it is on sale online in other European countries too)
- they love the beautiful screen.
- they like the design, size and weight; hard to argue with that one
- they think the keyboard is a bit small, although that is unavoidable due to the overall size of the device. They think that it is worse than the Nokia E61 or blackberry, but approaches the Treo 650 and the HP iPaq hw6515/hw6915. The back-light of the keyboard is fine.
- they liked that Samsung made some adjustments to the OS: adjustment of the level of luminosity of the screen, personalization of the right key "softkey", personalization of the key camera, two new today plugins and an
improved file explorer. Furthermore they integrated a WAP browser, just like
an alarm program, a stopwatch, an universal converter, Picsel Viewer (reader
for Word, Excel, Txt, pdf and images files) and finally a customizable
fast-launcher (which launches via a long pressure on the key )..
- really fast compared to HTC Smartphones, due to the fast 416 MHz Intel processor
- good sound (telephony) and powerful stereo speakers
- battery lasts 7 hours and 20 minutes compared to 15 hours for an Orange C600 when only playing back MP3. Therefore they are glad that Samsung decided to offer an extra battery and special charger.
