Windows Mobile Top Developers. Not really. July 27, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. Maybe Microsoft employees should restrain themselves from evaluating independent software vendors... Derek Snyder, who's a Product Manager in MED spent sometime going through reports and some research and came up with a list of the Top Windows Mobile Developers and he agreed to share it with us. Top Windows Mobile developers, updated yesterday based on aggregated Handango yardstick and community mind share. Windows Mobile Top 20 Developers (that met Criteria, not ranked)
Commentary: several Windows Mobile developers are selling more software at PocketGear (owned by motricity) than at Handango and are selling software through other sources than Handango - like direct sales, operators, etc. - so making such list based on Handango only is simply wrong and a misinformation. Furthermore some vendors on that list offer also free downloads (like PocketTV for example) and saying that they are "best selling" is completely missing the point. Apart from that Pocket PC Magazine software awards competition, where hand picked biased judges, and not readers are judging the software, this list "Windows Mobile Top Developers" list constitutes another example of unfair "top list" in Windows Mobile area.
