HTC Excalibur sighted July 31, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Some people already have HTC Excalibur for software development purposes and for testing, so no wonder that first photo of this phone has just surfaced (the source is anonymous). Moreover specifications are being confirmed: it not only has built-in Wi-Fi but also a special touch area... HTC Excalibur furtheremore is a MS Smartphone (meaning: much cheaper than Pocket PC phones) with QWERTY keyboard, flat/thin design and with landscape display, what means that it direclty competes with Motorola Q and Samsung SGH-i320, however on contrary to these 2 smartphones it features also built-in Wi-Fi what makes it superior: This new device is being developed under the codename of Excalibur. While the picture appears to make this device look big, I'm told it's only a couple millimeters thicker than Samsung's i320 and 2 millimeters shorter. Interested yet? Well, what if I told you that Excalibur will not only be a Quad-band device, but it will also be Wifi enabled - Have I peaked your interest yet? No? Then you'll be happy to know that there's more. It also has an innovative touch jog strip. You can clearly see this strip on the right side of the screen. Sliding your finger down on this, and it scrolls down, slide up and it scrolls up To learn more and most importantly to see the first (possible) photo of this smartphone click here. Now only the Skype for MS Smartphone with voice calling feature is missing, what could be however problematic because Skype is now owned by eBay and no longer is so agile as it was in past. Anyway built-in Wi-Fi will be a big delight, because nowadays several millions people listen to podcasts and apart from charging overnight your HTC Excalibur will be able to download also podcasts, synchronize AvantGo news, etc - so that all will be ready once you wake up and you are starting your daily commute in the morning.
