E-TEN Announces the G500+ Update

Improves All-in-One Pocket PC Phone and GPS Device with 256MB Flash RAM, FM Radio and Direct Push Technology

E-TEN Information Systems has announced that its business/travel focused Pocket PC Phone, the G500 with built-in GPS, will get a hardware refresh early next month. The upgraded product, which will be called the G500+, will feature increased 256MB flash memory and new FM radio functions, and will include support for Direct Push technology along with enhancements to boost the performance of GPS communications.

The G500+ Pocket PC Phone with built-in GPS is the only product that integrates all the functions needed by mobile professionals or frequent travelers in one convenient device. Quad-band GSM and GPRS support allows G500+ owners to send and receive voice, text and data calls from almost anywhere in the world, and with the newly added Direct Push technology functions the G500+ even allows businesses to set up 'Push Email' services so that mobile workers are always in touch with the office.

The G500+ includes an increased 256MB of flash memory (double the previous capacity) enabling users to store information such as contacts and files, additional applications, or extra GPS maps directly on the device without the need for additional memory cards. E-TEN is currently the only Pocket PC Phone maker to offer this much storage on its devices making its products the best choice in high-end and power-user markets.

The G500+ comes with value-added multimedia functions including voice record, music and movie playback, and a 1.3 mega-pixels camera ideal for capturing still photographs or personal videos. The newly integrated FM radio supports advanced RDS functionality and boasts an intuitive interface which makes it easy to search for broadcasts in the area, providing useful access to local news and updates, or for providing entertainment on long journeys.

The G500+ with built-in GSP receiver gives travelers the assurance of always having the latest satellite navigation technology available without having to carry an extra device or accessory. What's more, E-TEN includes several exclusive software utilities designed to deliver the best possible GPS experience. Included are; Satellite Data Update, a utility which can shorten the positioning time of GPS signals to as little as 20-30 seconds by enabling a quick link to satellite records from E-TEN's own servers, and also the potentially life saving a Location SMS application which allows a user's GPS coordinates to be sent to any SMS enabled phone at the touch of a button aiding the rapid response of emergency services in a critical situation.

Offering incredible flash memory capacity, advanced connectivity, multimedia, and the most convenient GPS operation possible, the G500+ is expected to be available in worldwide markets in early August.
