Voice Minder for Pocket PC released August 03, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. It is a rather simple but effective program, that makes it possible to send voice notes from your Pocket PC phone - whenever, wherever you are located - as e-mails with audio recording as attachment. The same is obviously possible also without any 3rd party software but requires a lot of navigation and button pressing, but with this program it is utterly simple! Firstly you press a user-defined key, and then the recording starts immediately:
... and now after tapping on "Stop & Send" button the voice recording is immediately being sent (here: we use cellular UMTS network to send it):
One must remember to set-up email account properly:
... and before using this program, the button "Test Account..." should be pressed and email settings should be changed until this message will appear:
Software vendor of this program writes: VoiceMinder is a simple solution for those of us who keep track of their task items via email. Currently available for the Pocket PC (soon for SmartPhone), once setup VoiceMinder allows you to quickly record a voice note and have it sent on its way to your email address of choice with just two button presses. No user interface to mess with. No complexities. Just drive/walk/whatever and press the user-configured hotkey to start recording and the hotkey again to stop - instant voice mail! Honestly - this is the coolest app I've used in ages! This beta will expire by August 31st and our plan is to have it available for purchase by mid month. We will also be adding SmartPhone versions soon. This program is still in BETA version obviously and sends recordings only in WAV format (MP3 unfortunately not supported) and it can't initiate cellular Internet connection itself - one must do it separately.
