More photos and more rumors about HTC Excalibur Windows Mobile smartphone August 09, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Since HTC Excalibur is still in rumor phase and nothing, absolutely nothing, has been yet confirmed officially about this phone, so several sources are spreading rumors about this smartphone with QWERTY keyboard - rumors of which many will never materialize in final version of this phone: Our source is telling us that the Dopod version of this QWERTY Smartphone will have a more refined look, significantly better keyboard and this is interesting - the Dopod version will not have the touch jog strip instead it will sport the traditional jog dial. However HTC Excalibur brings additional features such as built-in Wi-Fi and touch strip. One must however keep in mind that HTC Excalibur is very underpowered because it uses TI OMAP 200 MHz processor, so Skype and other Voice over IP (VoIP) software will not be working with it properly despite built-in Wi-Fi. It is Microsoft Smartphone though, not Pocket PC, so HTC Excalibur may have very good price/features ratio - it should be much cheaper than most Pocket PC phones. Lack of UMTS in HTC Excalibur may put off some people too...
