As pre-announced in our interview with CEO of Navizon the new version (that works also on both Windows Mobile platforms - smartphone and Pocket PC phone) brings wholly new concept - a rewards system to stimulate people to provide location data: The most remarkable feature in this new version is that it includes a rewards system that let you earn points when you collect WiFi and Cell tower information and then turn them into cash. So if you are a mobile worker like a taxi or a truck driver, you can earn an extra income just have Navizon running in your vehicle. * * * * * 
Navizon unveils new model for its community Starting today, users who use Navizon with a GPS device will earn cash; while users who don’t have a GPS device will be able to use a wireless positioning system for a small one-time fee. . Mexens Technology announced the implementation of a Reward System that allows consumers who use a GPS device with Navizon (www.navizon.com) to earn reward points in exchange for mapping Wi-Fi and cellular landscapes. “The idea behind the Navizon Model is simple: some users who have a GPS device are mapping the wireless landscape in their neighborhoods so that others who don’t have a GPS will be able to use a positioning system by triangulating Wi-Fi and/or Cellular signals,” explains Cyril Houri, founder of Mexens Technology. “Starting today, users who map data will receive cash rewards from those who don’t contribute data but want to utilize the information.” There will be two versions of Navizon:
When you use Navizon with a GPS device and map the Wi-Fi and cellular landscape in your neighborhood, you will earn points: - 2 points per Wi-Fi Access Point mapped - 10 points per cell tower mapped - With 10,000 points, you earn $19.99 that will be sent to the beneficiary’s Paypal account. Current GPS users are not impacted except for the fact that they can now earn points and dollars. Users who don’t have a GPS and were using Navizon previously can still use Navizon free of charge. Users who don’t have a GPS and are just joining the network will need to pay a fee, however they can use Navizon Premium free of charge for 15 days with an evaluation version.
