September 12, 2006 - Palm and Vodafone will announce Windows Mobile Treo for GSM/UMTS/HSDPA

When it comes to release dates of Windows Mobile Treo for Vodafone in Europe, Palm previously was mentioning only "the end of the calendar year", and now Palm told Reuters the same about the commercial launch of this phone (without revealing specific dates), but some new information has been published: the exact date of official announcement (where honchos from Vodafone, Palm and Microsoft will have big speeches) is known: September 12, 2006. Palm says:
"The announcement is going to be made in the UK on September 12, and we will give all the details then but at the moment all we are saying is that it will be out before the end of the year," said a Palm spokeswoman.
To read more click here but clearly no more details have been published there. Obviously everything - specifications and exact commercial launch date - will be announced on September 12, 2006. Since Vodafone is headquartered in London, UK, this launch event probably will take place there. We can expect that apart from Vodafone people, also CEO of Palm will come and at least Peter Knook from Microsoft, although sincerely speaking also Steve Ballmer (CEO, who was showing big love to operators) and Bill Gates (de facto boss, who was the first to announce the cooperation between Vodafone and Microsoft) could come too.
