i-mate JASJAM and SPJAS are official + i-mate announces changes in management
August 23, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R.

At last HTC Hermes Pocket PC phone branded by i-mate is official:

... and i-mate is making some changes in management. Previously i-mate was number one distributor of HTC manufactured phones, but recent changes at HTC, that decided to sell phones under its own brand, are changing it dramatically. It is strange therefore that i-mate management is so upbeat despite huge changes in HTC...

Please note: we were the first in the world who reported that HTC Hermes will be called i-mate JASJAM and that i-mate will be selling also non-HTC phones, because CEO of i-mate - Jim Morrison:

... revealed it to us himself!

The official product page of i-mate JASJAM is here and below follows information about changes in management at i-mate! Also HTC Breeze smartphone branded by i-mate - i-mate SPJAS - has been unveiled here - and unlike HTC MTeoR it supports 3G video calling!

i-mate appoints new Chief Operating Officer & Global Marketing Director

i-mate has promoted Dawn Robson to Chief Operating Officer and has appointed Robin Bowler as Global Marketing Director - two new key roles that will drive the company’s growth as it is fast becoming a global player in the mobility space and a recognized brand for Windows Mobile products.

Dawn Robson will be responsible for i-mate operations management, with the focus being on strategic direction, tactical implementation and short-term operations management on a global scale. Robson will also have overall responsibility for global sales and marketing strategies.

In light of i-mate’s continuing strong revenue increase and the growing geographic reach, Robin Bowler will be responsible for spearheading the company’s global marketing programme across 100 countries. He will be directing a global marketing team based at i-mate headquarters in Dubai and territories around the world to drive market penetration and increase brand awareness. Commenting on Robson’s promotion, Jim Morrison CEO stated: “Having been with the company since 2002, Dawn is key to the future of i-mate. Her contribution has been invaluable from the very start and I am sure that she will fulfil her role with her usual confidence and drive”.

Robson’s promotion coincides with i-mate’s additional appointment of Robin Bowler, a seasoned marketing and business development professional with over twenty years marketing experience in a range of sectors, roles and international markets.

”i-mate’s ever-increasing global reach requires a dynamic global marketing strategy. Robin’s previous experience and his expertise will be fundamental in engineering further i-mate growth and position the company as a major player within this competitive market,” stated Morrison.

Prior to joining i-mate, Bowler’s experience included both agency and corporate roles, involving a wide variety of brand and retail sectors. He also helped to build and drive the marketing management team which launched the UK National Lottery and later took control of the £800 million Instants scratch-card brand. Bowler, whose international experience spans across Europe, Asia and Africa, commented: “i-mate is an incredibly exciting place to be right now and I’m looking forward to helping to drive the growth of both the company and the brand in conjunction with the very talented group of people I’m working with.”
