Audio interview with HTC America published August 25, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. Here comes audio interview with David Smith, Director of Marketing of HTC America - a HTC division located in USA. In this review David Smith reveals that also accelerated CDMA EVDO - so called "Rev. A" will be supported by HTC. Unfortunately he also admits, that HTC has no plans to distribute HTC branded phones in USA through other channels, than wireless carriers and that no immediate successor to HTC Universal (the only Pocket PC phone with high resolution - VGA) is ready yet... HTC America is located close to headquarters of Microsoft in Redmond: in Bellevue in Washington state in USA. Unlike HTC Europe, that supports only HTC branded phones, HTC America supports also phones branded and sold by American wireless carriers. Short description of HTC: Since HTC was founded in 1997, in Taoyuan, Taiwan, the company has become the world's leading manufacturer of Smartphones and Pocket PCs. Today, HTC makes 80% of the mobile phones running the Windows OS. BusinessWeek ranked HTC #3 in its 2006 list of global IT companies. HTC's client list is a Hall of Fame of the electronic-device industry: HP, Dell, palmOne, mmO2, Orange, TIM, T-Mobile, Sprint, Cingular, Verizon, Telefonica, NTT DoCoMo, and Microsoft.
