Photo review : O2 Xda cosmo - HTC Excalibur from O2 Europe August 28, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Arne was previously working as a consultant for O2 Germany, so he still has good contacts there, so good that he has just received from them an O2 Xda cosmo smartphone for testing purposes: So what's all the cosmo/Excalibur buzz is about? Well, the HTC Excalibur is HTC's first BlackBerry look alike Windows Mobile Smartphone with a thumb board QWERTZ keyboard. While it reminds on the first sight on a Pocket PC Phone Edition with landscape screen, the screen isn't a touch screen at all since the cosmo is powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone. Other features are quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, W-LAN and Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera, the thumb keyboard and the new jog strip which replaces the traditional jog wheel, BlackBerry and HTC Hermes users might know. To learn more, view several high-resolution photos (you must click on them to zoom-in) click here. HTC Excalibur has too slow processor to run Skype client, lacks 3G/UMTS and has no touch screen (it is MS Smartphone, not Pocket PC phone) but it is very small and has built-in Wi-Fi and a keyboard for single handed usage (like BlackBerry), so it may be a hit after all! ![]()
