Microsoft at CTIA Wireless 2006 August 29, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. CTIA Wireless is not the largest wireless conference in the world (3GSM is the biggest) but it is certainly the biggest one in USA. Unfortunately once again Microsoft focuses on professional usage of Windows Mobile phones - in enterprises, what limits artificially the market for these phones just to narrow corporate users. Unfortunately once again Microsoft is missing out when it comes to mass market - area where Symbian phones shine: Microsoft writes: Microsoft at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2006 Microsoft will be at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2006 to showcase how a Windows Mobile powered device can help your workforce stay in touch with customers, be informed and rise above your competition. Visit us to learn how your organization can deploy a secure, scalable, and cost-effective mobile solution that helps your workforce stay connected and be more productive. The event runs from Sept. 12-14 in Los Angeles, CA. To register for the event, visit www.wirelessit.com. While it is good that Microsoft is present at CTIA Wireless at all, it is too bad that Microsoft still is positioning Windows Mobile just as devices for professionals and business people. With this approach Windows Mobile phones will never be able to defeat Symbian.
