Xbox Live for Windows Mobile coming soon, first photos available September 01, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. Any good reason to convince people to purchase Windows Mobile phone, rather than Symbian powered phone, is fine with us, and this reason - availability of Xbox Live program for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and smartphone - is a very good reason! Why this is a good reason to buy Windows Mobile phones? Because with Xbox Live for Windows Mobile, these phones can enable gamers to see who is now playing online, communicate with them and eventually schedule games, etc. For obvious reasons the Xbox Live for Symbian will never be available. Microsoft has invested (literally) several billions of USD in Xbox gaming console and related tools and services. It is time that some of this money could go into synergy in Windows Mobile area! What is Xbox Live? Xbox Live is an online multiplayer gaming and content delivery system supporting voice chat through a headset, bundled with the Xbox 360 premium package and the Xbox Live starter kit or available separately. There is a friends list of other users, as well as a mail-like system of either text or voice messages which can be used to send a message to an offline user. On the Xbox 360, whenever the user's console is powered on and is signed in to Xbox Live, the user's friends list and ability to send messages is available. On the Xbox, this is only available in Xbox Live or Live Aware games. The system also reports friends' activity on their system, typically the game being played, although the system supports more detailed information (the player's progress through the game, for example) Please note: Xbox and Windows Mobile both now belong to the same organizational structure in Microsoft:
... so clearly lack of any synergies would be strange and Xbox Live for Windows Mobile may be just the right way to achieve synergy effect of these 2 business areas - Xbox and Windows Mobile! Related links:
