Asia meets Europe: comparative review of Samsung SGH-i320 and Samsung SGH-i320N September 23, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Since our readership is very global and almost equally spread among USA, Asia and Europe, it may be interesting to see 2 phones for totally different markets (but based on the same hardware) side by side. Samsung SGH-i320 smartphone is on sale in Europe and is designed for European market and Samsung SGH-i320N smartphone is exactly the same model with the same features but designed for Asian market and sold there! At first glance the European version is more curvy but generally both look the same:
Asian version makes impression of a bit thicker and longer:
European version has also more curves along the length of the phone, while Asian seems to be more monolithic:
More photos with comparisons below:
Below you can see live photo from a shop in Europe (Mediamarkt shop in Switzerland) where Asian version of Samsung i320 - i320N - can be seen on the left side and the phone in the shop - i320 - is on the right side:
Below you can see some photos of the Samsung SGH-i320N smartphone where back light is visible (it is white!):
Conclusion: the differences in appearance between Asian and European version of Samsung i320 are not big and generally it is the same phone. Usually people have no choice which one of these 2 models to take, but it may be interesting to learn the difference - just in case some distributor or shop would be selling version from "the other continent". Let us not forget that i320 smartphones have no 3G (no UMTS, no HSDPA) and no built-in Wi-Fi, and while i320 smartphones may be sufficient for some people, the next model - from i600 series is coming soon both to USA and Europe and it features HSDPA, UMTS, genuine wheel, and built-in Wi-Fi... but it looks very similarly to above mentioned i320 smartphones!
