Samsung i607 smartphone has been FCC approved October 04, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Samsung is strong in area of Windows Mobile phones in USA, but it is mainly due to several nice Pocket PC phones, not MS Smartphone devices, and mainly for CDMA (Sprint, Verizon Wireless) and not GSM (T-Mobile, Cingular). With introduction of Samsung i607 (coming at first to Cingular) it may change...
Samsung i607 has support for HSDPA (fast version of UMTS), built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and genuine wheel (like in BlackBerry devices). It is not thicker than Motorola Q (touted by Motorola as thinnest smartphone in the world) and it could sell better than Motorola Q! To learn more click here to see related FCC documentation. Interestingly Samsung has FCC approved also i600 - separately! In USA people has got used to the fact that "smartphone" has touch screen, because most popular in USA smartphone - Treo - has a touch screen, so it is vital to underline that Samsung i607 is powered by MS Smartphone variant of Windows Mobile and thus has no touch screen.
