Windows Mobile Crossbow sighted October 07, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. ... and it looks like this:
As you can see above the changes are:
Since many years we have been criticizing Microsoft that graphical design of Windows Mobile is made by amateurs - programmers or program managers with graphical skills at childish level - and not graphical designers, but it looks like it will change. Example is Sony Ericsson and their mobile phones that have stunning amazing graphics and animations of icons in the mobile phone user interface. However if you plan to purchase Windows Mobile phone in near future, don't hold your breath - the "Windows Mobile Crossbow" and "Windows Mobile Photon" will be released in second half of 2007 and 2008 respectively. At this moment in time it is too early to say whether both these Windows Mobile upgrades will have any worthwhile improvement beyond improved looks, but certainly the mistake of removal of ActiveSync synchronization over Wi-Fi will not be removed - Microsoft is too arrogant to correct it, let alone to admit it - after all apart from Juha Christensen nobody has been fired from Windows Mobile division of Microsoft for making mistakes or any other reason. Update: another screen shot of the Windows Mobile Crossbow can be seen here. Update 2: detailed information about release times of Windows Mobile Crossbow is here.
