Winners of Pocket PC Magazine software awards 2006 announced October 18, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. The scam goes on, also this year. Unlike similar awards from German magazine about Windows Mobile, where readers are picking winners, the awards organized by Pocket PC Magazine are dodgy and awards are selected by handpicked judges, who by no means are unbiased and very often are in bed with some of the picked developers - big nepotism! Moreover it is just publicity stunt - a scam - of Pocket PC Magazine to handpick judges who would then cover this competition on their sites... rather than giving the voting right to the readers - to the people. Anyway, even if these awards are unfair and whole competition is dodgy, organized in a cooperation with developer-hostile Handango, our duty is to report it, so if you are interested in learning who won this year click here. Just keep in mind: these winners are not objectively "the best Windows Mobile software in 2006" - they're just picks of a small handpicked group of biased people. Also: Microsoft finally should stop giving MVP to editors of Pocket PC Magazine - after all they are not enthusiasts but paid writers of a commercial publication! Pocket PC Magazine is full of censorship and exclusion, and therefore it doesn't deserve support from Microsoft.
