Germans debunk another lie of Palm about Treo 750v : it has weaker reception than Treo 650 ! October 22, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. In numerous interviews Palm Inc employees were telling many lies, including claim that "built-in Wi-Fi uses more battery life, even if it is switched off, that's why we don't put Wi-Fi in Treo smartphones". One of major lies of Palm however was a claim that Treo 750v, despite having no protruding antenna, but just antenna integrated into the case, has not worse, but better cellular radio reception than Treo 650 (that has protruding antenna). German leading magazine about mobile phones "Connect" in a 3 page review of Treo 750v not only is writing about their gut feelings about this smartphone, but very solidly has measured (with professional measurement equipment) various features of this phone:
... and concluded that actually Treo 750v is less sensitive for cellular reception than Treo 650! In other words: claims of Palm employees have been complete lies based on marketing pep-talk and not on real-life measurements. Other highlights from this review (that can be found in Connect magazine, issue: November 2006):
Conclusion: measurements don't lie, but employees of Palm Inc do.
