The most powerful Pocket PC phone in the world will be released in USA next week November 07, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Cingular 8525 is a Cingular branded HTC Hermes Pocket PC phone and it will be available in USA next week, so also U.S. Americans will be able to enjoy the power of Windows Mobile to the full extent. Recently Kevin Rose from Digg.com dumped his Windows Mobile Treo for the sake of simpler Motorola SLVR phone complaining, that Windows Mobile is much too slow for him. One reason could be that Treo uses slower processor and another reason could be that Microsoft's incompetent employees insist on using "close" button to minimize applications and not to close them, what results in users running many applications in background and having very slow devices... but anyway Cingular 8525 has faster processor, built-in Wi-Fi (802.11g included), genuine BlackBerry-like wheel, and super fast HSDPA 3G data transfers, so there is nothing to complain about...
John Kampfe from Cingular explains to us: Some background – this is Cingular’s first 3G PDA and will be available nationwide beginning Thursday, November 16, in Cingular retail stores, through select national retailers, www.cingular.com and Cingular’s B2B sales organization. The Cingular 8525 also is the first UMTS/HSDPA-enabled PDA in North America and the only PDA in the U.S. with broad international 3G capabilities. In addition to HSDPA, the Windows Mobile 5.0 device features Wi-Fi (802.11 b & g) and Bluetooth 2.0. Among its features are a QWERTY slider keyboard, 2.0 megapixel camera and video capabilities, access to multiple wireless e-mail solutions and scores of downloadable, business applications including TeleNav GPS Navigator, and rich entertainment capabilities.
