Samsung SGH-i607 coming to USA this week: no need to buy Nokia E61 or Nokia E62 anymore
November 13, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.

There is no reason to buy Nokia E61 (available in Europe and for online purchase worldwide) or Nokia E62 (available on Cingular in USA) smartphones anymore because a phone that is smaller and more powerful is coming soon.... here we present exclusive photos of this phone:

This phone that challanges Nokia E61 and E62 is Samsung SGH-i607 that is coming soon to USA as we were reporting previously already. We also reviewed European version of this phone here: review of Samsung SGH-i600.

To underline that nobody should be now buying Nokia smarpthones but instead everybody interested in Nokia BlackBerry killers (Nokia E61 and Nokia E62) should consider Samsung SGH-i607 (code name: BlackJack) here we present a list of advantages that Samsung SGH-i607 offers, but that are not available in Nokia smartphones with QWERTY keyboard:
  • Samsung SGH-i607 is smaller and thinner than Nokia smartphones with QWERTY keyboard - as you can see on photos above
  • it has HSDPA so it can utilize big speeds of Cingular's 3G network ; Nokia smartphones have only UMTS so they are much slower - 1.8 megabits/second for Samsung SGH-i607 and only 384 kbps (=0.3 megabit/second) for Nokia E62 or Nokia E61
  • it has wheel and Nokia smartphones have no wheel
  • it has built-in camera so users can take photos
  • it features stereo audio over Bluetooth that is missing in Nokia Eseries smartphones
  • display resolution of i607 is equal to resolution of Nokia E61 and E62 smartphones: 320x240 pixels
  • Nokia E62 has no Wi-Fi
Samsung SGH-i607 will be available in USA on November 16, 2006 - this week - so if you need smaller more powerful smartphone then forget Nokia and get ready for Samsung!
