First official confirmation that HTC Trinity has built-in GPS is available ! November 14, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Let's face it: that HTC Hermes with slide-out QWERTY keyboard may be a nice handset with HSDPA and all the fancy stuff, but some people really don't like keyboards or keypads and they would like to have a PDA phone just with touch screen. So here comes HTC Trinity that will be sold also as Orange M700... and the good news is, that previous unofficial rumors that this handset has built-in GPS have been confirmed by French division of Orange (let's not forget: Orange, a European operator with headquarters in UK is owned by French corporation France Telecom)! Automatic translation (Babel Fish) from French says: the SPV M700 has an integrated GPS well... It was not activated by the manufacturer. Running first quarter 2007, the manufacturer will place at the disposal a software update which will reactivate the integrated GPS. While waiting, it is necessary to use an external antenna GPS. Read more and observe original source of this information here. In other words: unless you fancy strange steering wheel -like controls, there is no reason to buy HTC Artemis anymore! ... because HTC Trinity offers so much more! ... including HSDPA but it also has built-in GPS!
