Nokia supports Windows Mobile 5.0 December 02, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. Nokia phone powered by Windows Mobile at last? Not exactly: Nokia just purchased Intellisync company that was providing support for Windows Mobile 5.0 and now, after the purchase, still this support is provided, this time by Nokia, as Nokia writes: As an example of commitment to multi-device support, Nokia recently announced expanded support within its Intellisync Device Management solution for managing Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync settings on the Nokia Eseries business device range and Windows Mobile 5.0-powered devices such as Palm Treo and Motorola Q. Intellisync Mobile Suite from Nokia now supports all Nokia Eseries devices and more than 100 competitor devices. Original source of this story and more informaiton is here (Nokia). It is pity that Nokia is not providing genuine "multi-device support" by releasing phones powered by multiple platforms - like Samsung and Motorola are doing. For now investments of Nokia in Symbian are too big to offer Windows Mobile phones made by Nokia - tens of thousands of Nokia employees work on Symbian OS and phones - more than in Symbian itself...
