Vodafone VPA compact IV on sale in Germany, coming soon to UK

Vodafone's incarnation of HTC Herald (see also our review of HTC Herald) - the thinner version of HTC Wizard Pocket PC phone - is now on sale in German division of Vodafone. VPA compact IV may have no 3G, but it is THIN (!), has EDGE, clever slide-out keyboard mechanism and long battery life. Highlight of the Vodafone version is BlackBerry software that is built-in into this Pocket PC phone!

Conclusion: the best Pocket PC phone currently on the market - HTC Hermes - is quite thick and 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) uses a lot of battery power. It is good to see that HTC is going into direction of thin phones, also with their phones with slide-out QWERTY keyboards. Currently in the mobile phone market, both among regular phones and smartphones: "the thin is in" and manufacturers, that will manage timely release of thin phones will be rewarded with bigger sales...
