CES 2007 : video interview with OQO about OQO model 02 mobile PC January 14, 2007 [mobile PCs (Tablet PC, mini-PC, ...)] | By Edward J. R. OQO model 02 mobile PC (apparently the world's smallest PC powered by Windows Vista!) offers cellular connectivity over CDMA EVDO network of Sprint (USA), so in a sense it could be considered as Microsoft powered (Windows Vista !) mobile phone! It is powered by full Windows Vista operating system so it can run Skype and all other applications for desktop PC computers. This is already second generation of OQO mobile PC computers so no more teething problems should be found in this unit...
Here we present interview with OQO employee that our reporter carried out during CES 2007 (Flash-enabled browser needed): To download this interview as a file (viewable in Windows Mobile devices too) click here (in WMV format, higher quality than in above Flash player). OQO will be offering the new OQO model 02 computer with integrated mobile broadband capabilities via the Sprint Power Vision Network. Where available, the advanced Sprint mobile broadband network provides wireless high speed data services and covers more than 188 million people. The model 02’s integrated mobile broadband technology means convenient, fast, and secure connectivity to the internet, email, and business applications for mobile professionals wherever Sprint has coverage. Please note that unlike most other mini-PC devices, OQO model 02 has genuine digitizer in the display - like regular Tablet PC notebooks - what means that special digitizer pen is needed (it is not a touch screen) but what also means that precision of such digitizer pen is many times higher than precision of touch-screen stylus or fingers... The interview was carried out by Tadd Rosenfeld from my Treo.
