CES 2007 : video interview about S-XGen Pocket PC phone with FULL-SIZE Qwerty keyboard January 14, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. If you are searching for a Pocket PC phone with full-size (typing with 10 fingers possible!) QWERTY keyboard (and a hard disk) then S-XGen Pocket PC phone (yes, it is powered by Windows Mobile Pocket PC edition, not just by Windows CE !) is something for you!
Here we present interview with OQO employee that our reporter carried out during CES 2007 (Flash-enabled browser needed): To download this interview as a file (viewable in Windows Mobile devices too) click here (in WMV format, higher quality than in above Flash player). At this moment this Pocket PC phone is available in USA, where it can be used at Cingular and T-Mobile. There is no information about availability of this phone in Europe yet. The term "UMPC" or "Ultra Mobile Personal Computer" is used in this interview but this unit is powered by Windows Mobile Pocket PC edition and not by Windows Vista or Windows XP - clearly "UMPC" nowadays denotes both categories of mobile devices... It is worth noticing that thanks to Office Mobile and full-size QWERTY keyboard it is possible to write even long texts comfortably, with both hands, with all 10 fingers! In other words: it is one of few very small mobile devices, that make it possible to use full touch-typing. Processor : Intel PXA 270 Xscale - Speed : 520 MHz System Memory : Hard Drive 20GB ; 128MB SDRAM MMC Card with spring socket USB 2.0/OTG Display : 4 1/4 inch TFT screen with backlight minimum 1/4 VGA ; Transflective Touch Screen with 470 x 270 resolution Communications : WiFi compliant wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11 B) Bluetooth enabled Ethernet 100/10 Tri-Band Phone 900/1800/1900 MHz To learn more about S-XGen Pocket PC phone click here.
