HTC TyTN ( HTC Hermes ) will get ROM upgrade with AKU3 January 15, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. HTC Hermes Pocket PC phone available as HTC TyTN directly from HTC and under many other names from various mobile operators, is still one of the best (if not the best when it comes to number of various features) Windows Mobile phone in the world! After all it has UMTS with HSDPA that works both in USA and Europe, quad-band GSM, QWERTY keyboard, genuine scroll-wheel, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. ... AKU3 brings a lot of improvements (see here for a detailed review/description of AKU3 and other AKUs) so it is great news that HTC will release ROM with AKU3 yet this month: Hello HTC Europe are releasing a ROM update for the HTC TyTN (expected release date end of January 2007). It is worth mentioning, that it is still unclear whether other incarnations of HTC Hermes, released by operators, will get AKU3 upgrade too, but certainly users can use ROM upgrade for HTC TyTN with their HTC Hermes Pocket PC phones branded by operators, although then warranty will be broken.... However if this ROM upgrade with AKU3 for HTC TyTN will exist, then probability that also operators will release AKU3 will be much higher! On the other hand this AKU3 promise from HTC is also a signal, that HTC is not abandoning end users and that this phone - HTC TyTN - still is a current model that is actively supported.
