January 16, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.
This smartphone is powered by Windows Mobile smartphone edition and supports 3G in UMTS standard. It looks like mobile operators finally have realized that HTC is not the only manufacturer of Windows Mobile phones in Asia and this handset is made by Asus (AsusTek). Currently there are many hardware manufacturers in Asia, that have interesting handsets powered by Windows Mobile and we hope that this trend - mobile operators ordering Windows Mobile phones at more and more different companies - will continue! Times where mobile operators were at mercy of HTC are over.
Highlights about this phone:
- no cameras - neither for video calling nor for photo taking - a requirement in many companies where entrance is forbidden with camera phones
- dimensions: 108 x 18 x 47 mm
- weight: 120 g
- battery: 110 mAh (Li-Ion), 180 stand-by, 4 hours talk-time
- display: 65536 colors, 320x240 pixels, 2.2 inch
- memory card slot: micro-SD
- processor: 312 MHz (sufficient to run Skype client for MS Smartphone - now available - over UMTS)
- GSM tri-band (support only one American GSM band)
