Leaked ROM upgrade with Windows Mobile Crossbow brings down the publisher January 17, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. We have been reporting previously about unofficial ROM upgrade with Windows Mobile 6.0 Crossbow for HTC Universal but we have not provided link to the website (lawyers of Microsoft and HTC never sleep) - we have just reported about it. The worst has happened: ... it looks like the website is down as a result of publication of this unofficial ROM image, that contains upcoming Windows Mobile 6.0 Crossbow. If even publication of screen shots and descriptions of this new (yet unannounced by Microsoft) operating system is illegal, then providing of a ROM upgrade with this operating system would have to be very very illegal! Rationale behind this move may be such that if users can download latest version of Windows Mobile operating system and install it in their phone then what motivation would they have to purchase new models of phones with this latest version? We hereby urge fans of Windows Mobile to stop spreading Windows Mobile 6.0 Crossbow in order to give to manufacturers an opportunity to sell new phones !!! After all if manufacturers of Windows Mobile phones will not earn money, then there will be no new models...
