T-Mobile to release HTC Athena Pocket PC phone as T-Mobile AMEO January 23, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. The new "the best Pocket PC phone in the world" - HTC Athena - has detachable keyboard, built-in hard disk, built-in GPS, HSDPA and other goodies ... but unfortunately it is not small.
The T-Mobile AMEO is also known as the HTC Athena. It has Windows Mobile 5.0 on board and runs on a 624MHz Intel XScale processor. The device has a 5 inch (!) TFT screen with a 640x480 resolution. The AMEO has a 8GB harddisk built in but you can expand this by using the miniSD slot. There is GSM/GPRS/EDGE (quad band) and UMTS/HSDPA (2100MHz) on board. Ofcourse there is also WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0. Taking pictures is also possible by using the built in 3.0 Megapixel camera. The device is not consumer friendly since it is very big. The keyboard is delivered with the device and can be clicked on or off whenever necessary. To see more photos and specifications click here (automatic translation from Dutch) or go to original here.
