HTC Trinity to be released as Vodafone VPA compact GPS - another confirmation that it indeed has built-in GPS ! January 24, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Initially HTC Trinity has been sold without GPS activated but after Dopod now also Vodafone will be selling it with GPS activated in the ROM image. 
Interestingly not only "GPS" occurs in the name of the device but also is explicitly mentioned in the announcement from Vodafone (one-to-one literal translation from German): It's difficult to imagine that there can be a mobile phone that can offer everything. In any case VPA compact GPS is very close to realization of this dream: integrated GPS module for navigation, pus email, touch-screen, Wi-Fi, Windows Mobile 5.0, Bluetooth, UMTS broadband-cable, memory card slot, mobile Outlook for email, lacquer covered surface and much more. A really beautiful dream! Please note: "UMTS broadband-capable" means simply "HSDPA support". On top of HSDPA, this 3G phone supports also 3G video calling.
