Innovative and multitalented: T-Mobile's new Ameo, a high-performance mobile PDA

Unique array of features with large display, removable QWERTZ keyboard, powerful processor and generous hard drive

With HSDPA/UMTS, EDGE/GPRS and W-LAN, Ameo always supplies the fastest available network technology

Further highlights: 3-megapixel autofocus camera, GPS module, numerous Office applications and variety of interfaces

T-Mobile rings in the New Year in the role of innovation driver for the mobile telephony sector by launching an all-new PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). T-Mobile's Ameo is creating a new category in the mobile device market, uniting today's computer functions, mobile broadband transmission technology and telephone functions in an attractively designed exterior. Thanks to its innovative concept the Ameo can be used with or without its QWERTZ keyboard. Connected at the side to the keyboard's magnetic strip, it can be easily attached. Whichever option is preferred, its large-format color display, powerful processor, spacious hard disk, array of interfaces, long battery life and many other features all add up to a stylishly indispensable device.

Ameo, designed and manufactured by HTC, supplies mobile access to almost all applications, information and connections commonly needed. Including not only HSDPA/UMTS and EDGE/GPRS but also W-LAN, it offers users the fastest available mobile transmission wherever they are, via T-Mobile's mobile telephony network.

With the introduction of Ameo T-Mobile continue its successful cooperation with HTC, the world's leading provider of Microsoft® Windows Mobile devices, as partner. T-Mobile set standards already in the past by providing its customers with innovative PDAs like MDA Pro and MDA Vario II.

Information and Communication Profile

T-Mobile's new multi-talent is a must-have for business users such as managers, sales and service staff, architects or assessors, as a convenient alternative to juggling mini-laptop. The Ameo tracks down the most efficient mobile connections to corporate networks or the Web in almost any location. For exceptionally fast, simple email communication, the Ameo offers both the Blackberry email push service and Microsoft's Push email solution. With web'n'walk Ameo also makes Internet browsing very comfortable.

Significantly smaller and lighter than a mini-laptop, the Ameo is scarcely larger than PDA phone models such as the MDA Vario II. With the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system plus Office applications pre-installed, its computer power could be compared to a small laptop. The Intel Bulverde 624 MHz processor and generous RAM for applications and data enable multiple programs to be used in parallel without compromising on speed.

The 8GB hard drive is roomy enough for plenty of information, and the built-in "G Sensor" "saves" data if the device is dropped accidentally and can be used for internet navigation instead of scrolling touchscreen. Users can run presentations directly via the projector and TV outputs. The 3-megapixel auto focus camera with flash delivers high-quality photos and film. And the Ameo also features integrated GPS module, transforming it into a sat-nav system when used with the appropriate software such as T-Mobile NaviGate. When work is over, the Ameo comes into its own as an entertainment center, with integrated media player and stereo speakers for playing your favorite MP3s and more.

The Ameo is a joint effort of T-Mobile and HTC and will be introduced first to market globally in an exclusive version. The PDA is available from March 2007 at EUR 499,95 with 24-month contract in Relax 100 tariff.
