3GSM 2007: video interview with Mark Plungy from Yahoo about Yahoo Go 2.0 February 15, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Since Yahoo offering is focused on US American mobile operators and Windows Mobile is number one in smartphone market in USA, clearly the decision of Yahoo not to release 2.0 for Windows Mobile must be irrational. However it is understandable that they are targeting Java phones first - after all there is much more such phones than all smartphnes put together... While we have not received any promise about Yahoo Go 2.0 for Windows Mobile, clearly such version is coming. Here we present interview with Mark Plungy from Yahoo (PR):
... about Yahoo Go 2.0! Here are some highlights from the interview:

... so that local map could be viewed:
... and so that mobile search:
... would generate local search results:
Part of Yahoo Go is also mobile email (stand-alone email client):
... and access to FlickR photo service:
Conclusion: Yahoo must hurry up with releasing Windows Mobile version of Yahoo Go 2.0 because competition is very active: apart from Microsoft (and it's Live services) also Google has recently released Google Maps for Windows Mobile. Since Yahoo's focus are US Americans - anyway the biggest market and home country of Yahoo - it is strange that number one smartphone platform in USA - Windows Mobile - is not supported. We warmly advise Yahoo to release Yahoo Go 2.0 also for Windows Mobile! (in the interview it is hinted that Yahoo already is working on such version) To learn more about Yahoo Go, or to download it, click here.
