Windows Mobile 6 brings also push email for Hotmail users February 20, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Hotmail is Microsoft's free consumer web based email offering and users of Windows Mobile 6 phones will be able to obtain push email if they use Hotmail! While push email in Apple iPhone will be provided by Yahoo, it will not be exclusive to iPhone - as you can see in our interview with Yahoo push email from Yahoo is available now also for Java phones and soon also for Windows Mobile. The push email for Hotmail will be available however only for Windows Mobile 6 devices, not Symbian, not iPhone: with Windows Live Hotmail and WM6, we have push email support for free! And it works pretty darn well. If you have access to a WM6 device, sign up for Windows Live Hotmail (www.hotmail.com). On your WM6 device, open up Windows Live Follow the wizard to enter your Live credentials and configure your device to use Live services (Messenger, Mail, Contacts, etc). After you have configured your device to use Live, click on Menu and select options Select Sync Schedule Under Sync Frequency, select As Items Arrive Thats it! Your device is set to have the full goodness of push email. Who said nirvana was difficult to achieve :) To learn more and to see several screen shots, click here. Credit: GXBox.
