February 22, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R.
i-mate is releasing this summer Ultimate series of Windows Mobile phones, that are designed fully by i-mate and thus i-mate is becoming full-fledged manufacturer.
In this interview we talk about i-mate and their products with Robin Bowler - Global Marketing Director and David Hayes - Chief
Technology Officer.
Some selected (!) highlights from this interview:
- Ultimate series are 100% designed by i-mate and manufactured by Arima from Taiwan
- i-mate also works with Inventec and Tech Faith Wireless
- i-mate JAQ4 will be released in April 2007 and thus may well be the first ever Windows Mobile 6 phone that will be available commercially
- i-mate offers several differentiators including 24/7 support with online support through chats
- Ultimate series not only offers very fast (7.2 megabit/second) HSDPA but also has external XGA (1024x768) connector, which is much better than VGA or even W-VGA
- i-mate phones offer various cooperation possibilities with Windows Vista, including SideShow support and remote control of PC from Windows Mobile
