For Windows Vista users: now you can customize your Windows Mobile device icon ! February 23, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. We were the first to report, that in Windows Vista each Windows Mobile phone can have its own icon - that looks differently for each phone. Now a way has been found how to configure your Windows Mobile device so, that when it is connected to Windows Vista, an individual icon will appear! 
Shortly speaking some guy has ... watched a few of the online videos demonstrating the WMDC and in one of them it was mentioned that OEMs (the people who release the devices) are capable of switching the graphic to a "custom" graphic. I immediately searched the web trying to find information on how to change the graphic. Nothing was found, just the fact the "OEMs can change the graphic". ... so he researched the problem and has found solution! In future mobile operators and manufacturers will be configuring everything so that these model-specific icons will be appearing automatically but if you don't want to wait for the future and you would like to have such custom icon now in your Windows Vista - you can give it a try!
