Comparative review : Samsung SGH-i600 versus HTC Cavalier / HTC S650 February 27, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. HTC S650 has not been announced yet - apparently HTC must have some issues with it and SGH-i600 is available in a limited version in USA only - still not available in Europe - but you may be interested in comparison between these 2! By the way, interestingly, the processor of Samsung SGH-i600 phone is revealed: Samsung i600 is powered by a 416 MHz Intel PXA272 CPU. Out of 64Mb of RAM a bit more than 48 Mb are user-manageable, which is enough for every last thing you might need, thus there is no sense in expanding memory volume today. The size of bundled flash-memory (55Mb) is enough for the most essential applications, for other cases there is the memory expansion slot available. HTC S650 houses the flaming (as we found out during tests) 400MHz Samsung S3C2440 CPU. The user has access to 53 Mb out of 64 Mb or RAM, add to this 80Mb of flash-memory for downloaded applications and slot for microSD memory card and you all set. Conclusion: it is a bit strange that Samsung's smartphone is using XScale processor but HTC's smartphone is using Samsung's processor but apparently there must be some reasons for it...
