Review of HTC branded HTC Athena - HTC Advantage - published March 10, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. The large-ish Pocket PC phone with detachable keyboard is available with HTC branding - as HTC Advantage - in black:
... and also in silver as T-Mobile Ameo. Probably even more incarnations will be available soon. In this review the HTC-branded version of this phone is reviewed. Author summarizes this review in this way: The year 2007 marks the birth of a new type of device. As a matter of fact the HTC Advantage X7500 (better known by its codename Athena) shows how the convergence between PC and PDA-Phone reaches its fulfilment in something that could be called UMPPC (Ultra Mobile Pocket PC). The fact that we are before an absolutely unique and innovative device is demonstrated by its absolutely peculiar form factor and by its specs, as much as unique and innovative. Detachable QWERTY keyboard, 5-inch VGA display, 8GB hard disk (MicroDrive), GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA phone connectivity and Bluetooth e Wi-Fi wireless connections, 3-Megapixel camera, built-in GPS receiver, movement/gravity sensor, VGA/TV-out socket, Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC Phone Edition: the HTC Advantage X7500 by itself is able to offer the whole state of the art in technology being currently available for the Pocket PC in a whole of very high-end specs that no other manufacturer before dared to include in a single device.
