Microsoft releases comparison document - Windows Mobile 5.0 versus Windows Mobile 6
March 18, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R.

When we interviewed Microsoft about Windows Mobile 6 at 3GSM 2007 we learned that Windows Mobile 6 brings over 10,000 improvements over Windows Mobile 5.0 ! Here comes a 2 page PDF file, that highlights some most important differences! Jason Langridge from Microsoft UK writes:

Since we announced Windows Mobile 6 at 3GSM the most common question I get from customers and partners is how the product compares to Windows Mobile 5.0 and what the incremental capabilities are.

The second most popular question is - what features require Exchange 2007.

Please note that in this document you can observe, that the term "smartphone" is not going away and Microsoft still suggests to use "Windows Mobile powered smartphone" but this time it refers to both types of devices - with touch screen and without touch screen. However the name "Pocket PC" is replaced by "Windows Mobile powered PDA", so we can talk about final days of "Pocket PC"!
