Dell will no longer manufacture Windows Mobile powered devices... ... like for example Dell Axim Pocket PC PDAs: "The Axim X51 family is no longer being offered, and we have no plans for a follow-on product at this time," Dell spokeswoman Anne Camden said in an e-mail. Camden noted that the company does sell handhelds from other makers on its Web site, including GPS devices and smart phones. To learn more, click here. Is any blame to be laid on Dell? Yes! Dell lacks any real innovation: for example still Dell is not manufacturing and is not selling Tablet PC notebooks and UMPC computers. Clearly Dell has become just a company that brands Asia-manufactured equipment and does little more. While Asus and Acer are sprucing up their portfolio of PC and notebook computers with Windows Mobile powered PDA-s and smartphones, Dell is still extremely backward in their strategies! It may be true that Dell offers some PC-s, notebooks and displays cheaper than competition, but since customers can't touch them before purchase - they are available only online - many people chose to buy from brick-and-mortar shops or just to buy high-quality productions from Korea (Samsung, LG) or Taiwan (Acer, Asus) instead. Dell - once a proud of American computer industry - has become just a pusher of low-cost boxes made in Asia. Michael Saul Dell - the founder of Dell Inc - should resign from CEO position, retire and give up management to professionals...
