Zune phone coming ? Or maybe next version of Windows Mobile will get tile-based User Interface ( UI ) ? April 19, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Zune platform has been used now to power Wi-Fi-enabled media players... and clearly Microsoft didn't hide that Zune phone is coming sooner or later but on the other hand due to release of Apple iPhone with new design and fluid user interface, Microsoft will have to revamp future Windows Mobile too... There is no word about fluid interface yet but "tiles-based UI" could be the future of future Microsoft powered mobile phones: Data and services available through the mobile device can be represented as a set of tiles maintained in a display space. The tiles provide a snapshot of the current state of content available through the mobile device without requiring any interaction by the user. The tiles and display space are customizable and can be dynamically updated to display content to a user. [...] The system 100 can operate on any type of mobile device, including, but not limited to, a PDA, text messenger, cellular phone, pocket personal computer, smartphone, ultra-mobile tablet PC and the like. Input from the interface component 104 can include content obtained from one or more software applications.
