Microsoft unveils officially Silverlight but version for Windows Mobile still not available for download May 01, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Silverlight is a new Microsoft technology for web browsers and mobile devices - designed to replace Flash. Despite promises that SilverLight for Windows Mobile will be released at MIX07 conference, and despite the fact that Ray Ozzie mentions mobile devices e explicitly: “Silverlight is an important aspect of our software-plus-services strategy focused on delivering great user experiences that span the Web, the PC and mobile devices,” said Ozzie. “It does so, in part, by bridging technical barriers that previously made it difficult for Web developers and designers to collaborate. As a result, Silverlight will play an important role in helping advance the Web with a platform for creating rich, interactive experiences.” ... the SilverLight for Windows Mobile still is not available for download ! Clearly even Apple Mac OS X is better supported than Windows Mobile - a version of Silverlight for Apple Mac OS X is available for download already now. Learn more here about the announcement from MIX07. The official web site of Silverlight is here.
