Main MEDC 2007 conference is ongoing now

Previously interpreted as "Mobile and Embedded Developers Conference" now it is being interpreted as "Mobile and Embedded Devices Conference" and is considered as one of major events for Windows Mobile division - an event that also takes place in USA, so much more Microsoft employees actually are attending...
Here are some highlights from the main (there will smaller ones in other countries too) MEDC 2007:
- Robbie Bach who rules over mobile division and also over Xbox division of Microsoft, had a speech but he has not mentioned why still Windows Mobile devices cannot be connected over USB to Xbox - he still is missing out on synergy effects between divisions that are under him
- Mike Hall - the hobby podcaster within Microsoft - was presenting .NET Micro Framework (even smaller than .NET Compact Framework that is built-in into Windows Mobile devices) and Microsoft Robotics Studio 1.5
- Derek Snyder was presenting next version of Visual Studio (the one that will come after current Visual Studio 2005 - code name "Orcas") and Silverlight (Microsoft's answer to Flash) for Windows Mobile in action
- spoof video of "oFone" - a hypothetical phone with circular display - was presented ; this video is a way how Microosft is reacting on upcoming Apple iPhone! Instead of introducing fluid user interface and multi-touch support, Microsoft is making cheesy videos!
