HP starts offering 3G video server software BUT no 3G phones still ! May 09, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. How can you trust a company that offers video infrastructure for 3G networks, but provides no support whatsoever for 3G in their own (Windows Mobile powered) phones? HP today announced new mobile software solutions that will help people use personalized video services to enliven their interactions with family, friends and social communities. The HP OpenCall Mobile Video Solutions portfolio includes three flexible, standards-based offerings that can be deployed in high-speed 3G networks. They enable people to send and receive video messages as easily as voice messages, create animated call response messages, and enjoy a wide range of video services, such as video blogging. This company seems to be stuck still in the past with no signs that Windows Mobile phones with 3G support will be ever released - although 3G video server software (see above) and notebooks with built-in 3G support - are offered by HP already. Also: zero chances that HP will release upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 for their phones.
