Windows Mobile 6 to be available in Catalan May 10, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Catalan is used among others in Barcelona, Spain:
... where 3GSM World Congress - the biggest global mobile phone industry event - takes place. Still there are some localization problems (see for example problems in Greece here) and although Windows Mobile is available in many language versions, not all manufacturers are delivering local versions! So it is good to see that Catalan, will be supported, thanks to cooperation among HTC, Orange and Microsoft: HTC, Orange and Microsoft announced today the first Windows Mobile 6 smartphone in Catalan language. It will be HTC's s710 model, available during Q4 2007. It won't be the first smartphone in Catalan, because there are already several BlackBerry models. However, no Symbian or Palm OS devices are available in this language, spoken by 11 million people in Southern Europe. More information can be found here.
